We got 12 new chicks today!

I forget how little they are when they are first hatched.

 Travis loves them! He freaked out when he first saw them and then he wanted to pet them. He kept saying "Niiiiiiiicccccce!" as he touched them. He only grabbed one once, but even then he was pretty gentle.

 Isn't she pretty?

The husband discovered the game Angry Birds today.

 He was like this for hours.

Every time he would yell, Brooklyn would run over to see what all the fuss was about.

Today was gorgeous! Clear and sunny:)

So, of course, we went outside. Duh!

This is what I wanted to do while basking in the sunlight:

This is why:

This tray thing was filled with ICE this morning and now he is playing in it.

His poor frozen fingers!

Brrrrrrr! Soaking wet and playing in ice cold water.

Then he found the mud. Of course.

Gross, happy, muddy boy!

Oh how I love this little BOY!

I will happily put aside my books and coffee to follow him around in the mud

and watch him enjoy the simple pleasures of childhood.

This is Travis' favorite book:

 It is from the dollar spot at Target.

 A basket full of books and this is the one that he brings me 20 times a day to read to him.

As I read to him I hold his hand and tap each item as we count them. He loves that.

He drives it around with him and always has it nearby.

He reads it to himself while making the cutest baby gibberish.

When he brings it to me, I stop everything and read it to him.

He hands me the book and then turns around and backs up into my lap.

Ugh, it just melts me.

He loves to push the button to change the heat settings.

I adore him and all his forms of mischief;)

Today Travis learned that the rugs are not nailed down and in fact can move anywhere.

I lost track of how often I put them back.

Basically, if he can move it, empty it, fill it, stack it, unstack it, throw it,

or stand on/in it he will.

I love his little daredevil grin.

We went outside to catch a few minutes of sunshine and to play in the sandbox.

This is where I spent most of the day:

 Our dryer runs on propane and we are out, so I loaded up(He he he) a bunch of laundry and headed over to my in-law's RV Park. I did 10 loads of laundry. Yep, 10. The washers there are much smaller than mine, so at home it would have been 5 loads, but there is was 10;)

Travis was my laundry buddy and kept me on my toes in between all the swapping of loads.

Isn't he adorable? ;)

Superbowl Sunday!!!

 Printed some cute little flags out to top our cupcakes:)

My siblings and I did not grow up watching sports on tv. I don't think any of them had ever really watched football until they came to our house for the weekend.

The girls decided which team they wanted to cheer for based on how cute the quarterback was and Green Bay won. #12! Oh yeah! It helps that he is a Nor Cal boy and is also a Christian;)

We pulled out the craft paint and had a little fun:)

This is me near the top. It was so windy and there was snow on the ground.

The view was gorgeous and the hike was hard, but it was worth it!

Today was a rough day.

This boy kept yelling at me while I was trying to get some stuff done. He would be playing nicely by himself until I opened the laptop and then he was all over me screaming. Seriously?

I heard a crash and ran into the kitchen to see this; the plant stand knocked over and dirt all over the floor.   He looked at me and said "Uh-oh!"  Yeah, right.

Then he wanted to play in it.  Awesome.

All I can say is that, for his sake, I am so glad that I painted trim during his nap instead of mopping the kitchen floor.
